Akuamma Capsules 600 mg vegan Akuamma's most abundant active alkaloid is akuammine. Akuammine is an apiate which activates kappa opioid receptors, in this manner, akuamma does not give you a direct spiritual experience such as opium or morphine. Akuamma is traditionally used as a painkiller in West Africa for its antipyrectic, anti-diabetic, and anti-inflammatory effects.
Akuamma is also used to treat malaria and diarrhea. Akuammine is structurally related to yohimine and mitragynine (kratom). Akuamma has hypotensive, skelatal muscle relaxant and local analgesic activities. Its local analgesic activity is about 3 times as potent as codeine.
