You will receive the pictured cactus/cuttings (unrooted, minor blemishes possible)

Origin

Trichocereus cordobensis originates from the fascinating regions of South America, especially Argentina. These majestic cacti can be found in the mountainous areas of the province of Córdoba, where they thrive at altitudes of up to 1,500 meters. Due to their adaptation to extreme conditions, they are particularly robust and hardy, making them popular plants for cactus lovers all over the world.

Worth knowing

Trichocereus cordobensis is known for its impressive growth height, which can reach up to 3 meters in the wild. The plants have a cylindrical, green body covered with strong, yellowish spines. In spring and summer, they produce stunning white to light pink flowers that exude a wonderful fragrance. These flowers usually open at night and attract numerous pollinators. In traditional culture, Trichocereus species have often been prized for their psychoactive properties, although this plant is mainly cultivated for ornamental purposes.

Tips for rooting cacti

To successfully root Trichocereus cordobensis, cut off a healthy shoot (if you have received a mother plant from us) and allow the cut to callus for several days in a dry, shady place. As soon as the cut is dry, plant the shoot in well-drained cactus soil. Keep the soil only slightly moist until the first roots are visible. Make sure that the plant gets enough light during this time, but is protected from direct sunlight.

Care of the plants

Trichocereus cordobensis requires little care to grow healthily. Place the plant in a sunny spot and water it sparingly, especially during the growth phase in spring and summer. In the winter months, watering should be reduced to prevent root rot. Well-drained soil is crucial to prevent waterlogging. You can fertilize the plant every two weeks in spring and summer with a special cactus fertilizer. Make sure to check the plant regularly for pests and treat if necessary.
