Growing instructions:

These seeds belong to the light germinators, which is why they should be covered only thinly or not with growing medium (growing soil) for germination. A previous soaking in water for 24 hours has proven to be beneficial.

Then fill the pots with loose growing medium, spray with water, place the seeds on the soil and cover only thinly with substrate. It is best to cover the pots with plastic wrap and aerate them daily or keep the soil moist. The pots can also be placed in suitable indoor greenhouses until the seeds have germinated and the seedlings are a few inches tall. It is important to ensure a supply of fresh air at least once a day to prevent and avoid mold.
The seeds need a lot of light and sufficient heat for germination, because they will not germinate

After germination of seeds seedlings can be very slowly accustomed to the drier indoor air or fresh air outdoors after a few weeks.

Requires outdoors a sunny location and a well water-draining substrate or soil. Young plants, if cultivated outdoors, should nevertheless be somewhat protected - especially from wind and rain. If necessary, cultivation in a greenhouse with sufficient sunlight is recommended.

Interesting facts about the African Dream Root:

African dream root plants have been used for thousands of years around the world by diviners and shamans to induce states of lucid dreaming in order to receive divinations. Such sacred plants are called oneirogens, which comes from the Greek oneiros meaning "dream."

For the so-called "amaXhosa" people, dreams are considered a means of direct communication between the living and the ancestors, and dreams are closely integrated into traditional healing practices. Good dreams are considered to be those directly related to the ancestors, while bad dreams are sent by someone who wants to hurt the dreamer.

A number of plants, collectively referred to as "izilawu" and individually as "ubulawu", are used in various ways to facilitate communication with the ancestors (Iminyanya - referred to as shadows in early literature) - mostly, but not exclusively, during religious rituals. Ritual purity is essential for communication with the ancestors and can be achieved by washing with ubulawu plants. The foam-producing roots are crushed or grated, placed in a billycan of cold water, and quickly swished with a forked stick carved from a wild olive branch according to custom until a lather of frothy white foam is produced. The manner in which the Ubulawu foams is carefully observed. A lack of foam is interpreted as either improper timing for the ritual or ancestral disapproval. This foam, called isilawu, is used or ingested as a face and body wash.
