Sowing instructions

1. Time: It is best to sow the seeds in spring, after the danger of frost has passed. Sowing in late summer is also possible.
2. Location: Choose a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained soil.
3. Sowing: Scatter the seeds thinly in rows or pots and cover them lightly with soil. Keep a distance of about 20 cm between the plants.
4. Irrigation: Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
5. Germination: The germination time is about 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 15-20°C.

Tips and tricks

• Harvest: Cut the leaves regularly to encourage growth and make the plant bushier. The flowers can also be harvested and eaten.
• Care: Regularly remove weeds from around the plants to avoid competition for nutrients.
• Propagation: Allium tuberosum can be easily propagated by dividing the root ball in spring or fall.
• Overwintering: The plants are hardy in mild climates. In colder regions, protection with leaves or straw is recommended.
