Sowing instructions

Phaseolus vulgaris "Amethyst" is a robust and high-yielding bean variety that will ensure a rich harvest in your garden or on your balcony. It is best to start sowing from mid-May, when there is no longer any risk of frost. Place the seeds about 2-3 cm deep in well-drained soil and keep a distance of 40-50 cm between the plants. Make sure to keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Germination usually takes place within 8-10 days.

Tips and tricks

To promote the growth of "Amethyst" beans, it is advisable to plant them in a sunny to semi-shady location. A climbing aid or bean stand can provide additional support for the plants and make harvesting easier. Use organic fertilizer or compost to provide the soil with nutrients. Snails can damage young plants, so early control is important. Harvesting the beans regularly promotes the formation of new flowers and extends the harvest period.
