Anacyclus pyrethrum var. depressus, also known as Bertram's root, is a robust and attractive plant that is ideal for rock gardens and dry locations. To sow the seeds optimally, you should start in spring or fall. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Sprinkle the seeds directly onto the surface of the soil and press them down lightly, but do not cover them with soil, as they need light to germinate. Keep the soil evenly moist, but not wet. Germination usually takes place within 2-3 weeks at a temperature of 15-20°C.

Tips and tricks

• Avoid waterlogging, as the plants can react sensitively to too much moisture.
• A sunny location promotes flower formation and compact growth.
• If you prefer to grow the plants in pots, you can put them outside after the last frosts.
• Anacyclus pyrethrum var. depressus is a perennial plant that can also remain outside in winter, provided the site is well drained.
• Regular removal of faded flowers promotes a longer flowering period and keeps the plant attractive.
