If you want to grow Atractylodes lancea, also known as Tsangshu or Chinese Atractylodes, follow these simple steps. Atractylodes lancea is a valuable medicinal plant in traditional Chinese medicine.
- Choice of location: Choose a sunny to semi-shady location with well-drained soil. Atractylodes lancea prefers loamy or sandy soils.
- Soil preparation: Prepare the soil by loosening it well and removing weeds and stones. Atractylodes lancea thrives best in slightly acidic to neutral soil. You can add compost or well-rotted manure to improve the nutrient supply.
- Sowing time: The best times for sowing are in spring or fall. Sow the seeds about 1 to 2 centimetres deep in the prepared soil and keep it evenly moist.
- Germination and care: Germination can take a few weeks. Keep the seedlings moist, but avoid waterlogging. As soon as the seedlings are stronger, you can thin them out to create enough space for growth.
