Tips and tricks

Brugmansia sanguinea is more sensitive to heat than other angel trumpets and thrives particularly well in temperate climates.
Fertilize regularly during the summer to promote abundant flowering.
In regions with frost, we recommend growing the plant in a container so that it can be brought indoors in winter. High humidity promotes healthy growth.

Worth knowing

Brugmansia sanguinea originates from the Andes in South America, where it grows at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters. It differs from other Brugmansia species due to its striking red flowers and its preference for cooler temperatures. Due to its toxicity, it was used for ritual purposes in indigenous cultures, but today it is only cultivated for decorative purposes.
