Sowing instructions

Ideally, the seeds should be sown from March to May. Plant the seeds in pots about 1 cm deep and keep the soil moist, but not too wet. A warm, bright location (approx. 20-25 °C) promotes germination, which takes place after around 7-14 days. As soon as the plants are strong enough and there is no longer any risk of frost, you can plant them outdoors or in a greenhouse. Make sure to leave enough space (approx. 60 cm) between the plants so that they can develop well.

Harvest, use & storage

You can harvest the first cucumbers from June into the fall. They are at their best when they are around 30-40 cm long. The cucumbers are perfect for eating fresh in salads, smoothies or as a snack. You can also pickle them or store them in the fridge for a while - however, they will lose their freshness over time. It's best to enjoy them straight after harvesting!

Tips & Tricks

• Cucumbers need a lot of water. Water regularly, especially on hot summer days, to avoid a bitter taste.
• Support the growth of the plants with a climbing aid to promote better fruit formation.
• Fertilize regularly with organic fertilizer to ensure vigorous growth.

Worth knowing

The "Telegraph Improved" variety is particularly resistant to many cucumber diseases. It also requires no special pollination process, which makes it a good choice for beginners.
