Sowing instructions

Sowing Salvia verbenaca, also known as wild sage, is easy and ideal for garden beginners. You can sow the seeds directly outdoors or in pots. Choose a sunny location for this, as the plant prefers full sun. The best time for sowing is spring, as soon as the danger of frost has passed. Spread the seeds over the soil and cover them lightly with a thin layer of soil. Make sure to keep the soil moist until the seedlings appear.

Tips and tricks

For successful germination, you should keep the seeds evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. A layer of mulch can help retain moisture and keep out weeds. If you sow the seeds in pots, make sure that the pots have good drainage. Wild sage prefers well-drained soil and can also thrive in poor, nutrient-poor soil. Once the plants have reached a certain size, you can thin them out to a distance of around 30 cm so that they can develop well.
