Sowing instructions

Sowing Brassica oleracea var. sapellica "Dwarf Green Curled" seeds is easy and rewarding. Start in spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Sow the seeds about 0.5 cm deep in well-drained soil. Make sure to place the seeds about 5 cm apart. Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. After about 7-14 days, the seeds will germinate and young seedlings will appear. As soon as the seedlings are about 5 cm tall, thin them out to a distance of 30 cm to give them enough space to grow.

Tips and tricks

For an optimal harvest, 'Dwarf Green Curled' thrives best in full sun, but can also tolerate partial shade. Mulch the soil around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize regularly with compost or an organic fertilizer to promote vigorous growth. The plant is frost hardy and can be harvested well into winter. Make sure to harvest the outer leaves first so that the plant can continue to grow. Another tip: plant at successive intervals to ensure a continuous harvest.
