Sowing instructions

To achieve the best results when growing Lepidium meyenii, also known as maca, you should sow the seeds in well-drained soil. Choose a location with plenty of sunlight and a slightly acidic to neutral pH value. Sowing is best done in spring when the soil temperature is consistently above 10°C. Spread the seeds evenly over the surface and cover them lightly with soil. Keep the soil moist, but avoid waterlogging as this can lead to root rot.

1. Be careful with irrigationMaca prefers a dry climate. Water sparingly, especially after germination.
2. Soil preparationGood soil preparation is crucial. Loosen the soil deeply and add compost to improve the nutrient supply.
3. Pest controlMaca seeds can be sensitive to pests, so protect your plants with a fine mesh or organic pesticides.
4. Harvest timeHarvesting usually takes place after 8-9 months, when the roots have reached a sufficient size. Take care to remove the plants carefully so as not to damage the delicate roots.
