Sowing instructions

Sowing Salvia nemorosa "Merleau Rosa" is easy and rewarding. Start in spring when the danger of frost has passed. Prepare a seedbed by loosening the soil well and adding organic fertilizer. Sow the seeds thinly and cover them lightly with soil. Keep the seedbed moist, but avoid waterlogging. You will see the first seedlings after about 14-21 days. When the plants are about 10 cm tall, you can transplant them to a distance of 30-40 cm so that they have enough space to grow.

Tips and tricks

Salvia nemorosa "Merleau Rosa" needs a sunny location for lush flowering and healthy growth. The plant prefers well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. Water regularly, but make sure that the soil dries out slightly between waterings. Light pruning after the first flowering will encourage a second flowering in late summer. Regularly remove withered inflorescences to encourage the plant to produce new flowers. Protect the plants from heavy frost in winter with a layer of mulch or fleece.
