Sowing instructions

Would you like to transform your garden into a colorful sea of flowers? Then Papaver poeniflorum "Perky Peony" seeds are just the thing for you! This poppy variety delights with its lush, peony-like flowers. It is best to sow the seeds directly outdoors in spring as soon as the danger of frost has passed. Sprinkle the seeds thinly on the soil and cover them lightly with soil - they need light to germinate! Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Germination usually takes place within 7-14 days.

Tips and tricks

"Perky Peony" loves sunny locations, but also thrives in partial shade. Well-drained soil promotes growth and prevents root rot. To ensure a continuous flowering period, you can sow a new row every two weeks. Cut off faded flowers to prevent seed formation and extend the flowering period. These plants are easy to care for and require no additional fertilization. A layer of mulch can help retain moisture in the soil and suppress weed growth.

Papaver poeniflorum "Perky Peony" is not only a visual eye-catcher, but also attracts bees and other pollinators. The plants reach a height of around 60-80 cm and are therefore ideal for flower beds or as background planting. The flowers are also very popular as cut flowers and bring fresh charm to your vase. Caution: Poppy plants are poisonous and should not be eaten. However, they are hardy and will come back next year if you let a few seeds ripen.
