Sowing instructions

The cultivation of Pulsatilla chinensis seeds begins with careful preparation. It is best to sow the seeds in late fall or early winter, as they need a cold period to germinate optimally. Spread the seeds evenly over a well-drained potting compost and cover them lightly with a thin layer of sand or soil. Keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Place the sowing containers in a cool place, ideally outside, so that the seeds are exposed to natural temperature fluctuations. The first seedlings should appear after about 2-3 months.

Tips and tricks

To grow Pulsatilla chinensis successfully, you should pay attention to a few important points. Firstly, good drainage is crucial to prevent the delicate roots from rotting. Secondly, the seedlings benefit from light shade, especially in the first few weeks after germination. When pricking out the young plants, take care not to damage the roots.
