Sowing instructions

Start your Capsicum annuum "Robertina" adventure by sowing the seeds in a seed tray between February and April. Cover the seeds lightly with potting compost and keep them evenly moist. Make sure that the temperature is constantly between 22-25°C. The first seedlings should appear after around 10-14 days. When the seedlings are strong enough, you can prick them out into small pots and allow them to grow until there is no longer any danger of frost.

Tips and tricks

To grow strong plants, place the pots in a bright location with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. Avoid waterlogging by using a pot with good drainage. Regular fertilizing every two weeks with a balanced fertilizer ensures an optimal supply of nutrients. When the plants have reached a height of around 20 cm, you can clip the top to encourage the growth of side shoots, which will result in a richer harvest.

The "Robertina" variety impresses with its bright red, sweet and aromatic fruits, which are delicious both raw and cooked. Capsicum annuum belongs to the nightshade family and is particularly rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Originally native to Central and South America, the capsicum has gained a firm place in kitchens around the world. The "Robertina" is also particularly resistant to diseases and pests, making it an ideal choice for amateur gardeners.
