Sowing instructions

To successfully grow Papaver somniferum "After Midnight", you should sow the seeds directly outdoors in spring. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Prepare the soil by loosening it well and incorporating organic material. Spread the seeds thinly and cover them lightly with soil. Keep the soil evenly moist until the seedlings appear, which usually takes 10 to 21 days.

Tips and tricks

Papaver somniferum "After Midnight" loves sunny locations and can develop its impressive flowering splendor in full sun. Make sure to place the plants about 20 cm apart to ensure optimal ventilation and prevent diseases. Occasional fertilizing with a phosphorus-rich fertilizer can promote flower growth. Cut off faded flowers to prolong the flowering period and keep the plant healthy.
