Sowing instructions

Start sowing your Solanum lycopersicum "Red Pear" seeds around 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Use potting compost and place the seeds at a depth of about 0.5 cm. Keep the soil evenly moist and place the seed container in a warm, bright place. The ideal germination temperature is 20-25°C. The first seedlings should appear after about 7-14 days. As soon as the seedlings have developed two to three leaves, you can prick them out and transfer them to larger pots.

Tips and tricks

Plant the seedlings outdoors or in large pots after the last frost. Make sure to choose a sunny location, as tomatoes need plenty of light. Use nutrient-rich, well-drained soil and ensure an even supply of water. Fertilize regularly to promote a bountiful harvest. Support the plants with tomato stakes or climbing aids to support the heavy fruits. Regularly remove the lower leaves and side shoots (pinching out) to keep the plant healthy and promote fruit development.
