Sowing instructions

Start sowing your Capsicum annuum "Sweet Chocolate" seeds around 8-10 weeks before the last frost date. Fill small seed pots with high-quality potting compost and plant the seeds to a depth of around 0.5 cm. Keep the soil evenly moist, but not wet. Place the pots in a warm place, ideally at temperatures between 25-30°C. A heating mat can speed up the germination process. The first seedlings should appear within 7-14 days. As soon as they are about 5 cm tall, you can transfer the strongest seedlings to larger pots or into the open ground.

Tips and tricks

Capsicum annuum "Sweet Chocolate" loves sunny locations. Make sure that the plants get at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Water regularly, but avoid waterlogging. Mulching helps to retain moisture in the soil and suppress weeds. Fertilize every 2-3 weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Removing the first flowers can stimulate the plant's growth and lead to a richer harvest. Also keep an eye out for pests such as aphids and spider mites and treat the plants with suitable products if necessary.
