Sowing instructions

The red cabbage "Tête Noire 3" is ideal for your garden if you are looking for robust and tasty vegetables. You can sow the seeds from mid-March to early April in seed trays or directly into the bed. Make sure that the soil is well prepared and slightly loosened. The seeds should be about 1 cm deep and covered with a little soil. Keep the soil evenly moist and ensure a temperature of around 15-20°C during germination. As soon as the plants are about 5-10 cm high, you should separate them to a distance of 30-40 cm to create enough space for the heads to grow.

Tips and tricks

Red cabbage loves nutrient-rich soil, so fertilizing with compost or well-rotted manure before planting is recommended. If you water the plants regularly but avoid waterlogging, the red cabbage will grow optimally. To prevent pests such as cabbage cutworms, it is helpful to cover the plants with a net. Make sure you regularly check for pests and diseases so that you can intervene at an early stage.
