Sowing instructions

If you would like to grow Tribulus terrestris seeds, also known as ground thorn, there are a few basic steps to follow. Tribulus terrestris is a robust plant that thrives in many different climates. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. Sowing is best done in spring. Prepare the soil by loosening it and clearing it of weeds. Sow the seeds about 1-2 centimetres deep in the soil and keep them evenly moist until germination occurs. Germination usually takes around 2-3 weeks.

Tips and tricks

• Irrigation: Keep the soil moist after sowing, but avoid waterlogging. Tribulus terrestris is drought tolerant, but young plants need regular watering.
• Soil improvement: Although Tribulus terrestris thrives in poor soil, the addition of compost can support growth.
• Placement: Plant the seeds at a distance of 30-50 cm to leave enough space for the plant to spread.
• Protection against weeds: Keep the area around the plants weed-free, especially in the first few weeks of growth.
