Growing instructions:

These rare seeds from the Peruvian jungle require a humid, swamp-like climate and growing conditions, which is why soaking the seeds is recommended due to the thick seed coat.

The seeds of Virola Peruviana are dark sprouts, which is why they need to be covered with soil and placed approx. 2-3 cm deep in the soil for successful germination.

Fill the pots with potting soil, sprinkle with water, place the seeds on the soil, cover with a layer of soil and sprinkle with water. It is best to cover the growing pots with plastic wrap and aerate them daily or keep the soil moist. Otherwise, the pots can be placed in suitable indoor greenhouses until the seeds germinate and the seedlings are a few inches tall. It is important to ensure fresh air supply at least once a day to prevent and avoid mold.

After germination of seeds seedlings can be slowly accustomed to the drier indoor air or fresh air outdoors after a few weeks.

We use high-quality plant soil with sufficient perlite, clay granules and/or volcanic stone granules for the plants.

Virola Peruviana thrives best in a semi-shady, swamp-like environment - ideally with increased humidity!
