These seeds are among the dark germinators, so they need to be thinly covered with soil if you want them to germinate.

Fill the seed pots with potting compost, spray with water, place the seeds on the soil, cover lightly with soil and spray with water. It is best to cover the seed pots with plastic foil and air them daily or keep the soil moist. Otherwise, the pots can also be placed in suitable propagators until the seeds have germinated and the seedlings are a few centimetres tall. It is important to ensure a supply of fresh air at least once a day to prevent and avoid mold.

After germination of seeds seedlings can be slowly accustomed to the drier indoor air or fresh air outdoors after a few weeks.

Requires at least partial shade to sunny conditions outdoors. The large witchweed thrives best when protected from direct sunlight and requires sufficient water when cultivated in a pot.

Interesting facts about witchweed:

Tall witchweed is a delicate, small plant that is typically found in lush, cool, moist forests and swampy places, often growing on mossy rocks and tree trunks.

The small flowers and the occurrence in the forest or on forest edges, the great witchweed becomes a Saturn plant that fits with Circe's knowledge of the underworld. This plant clearly has a long association with sorcery, enchantment, witchcraft, binding, and transformation. It offers particularly interesting possibilities as a shapeshifting herb if you want to look at it from a "magical" perspective.

Some believe that its reputation for witchcraft comes from the seeds of the plant attaching themselves to fur or clothing, like a curse attaches itself to a person. Many of the common names are associated with magic:

Wizard of Paris, witch's grass, large witch's herb, magical wood herb, Paris nightshade, herb of St. Etienne, southern leaf nightshade

Unlike most Saturnian herbs, it is less toxic, although it seems to contain a lot of tannin, an astringent, making it an interesting addition to any magical garden.
