Origin
Trichocereus pachanoi originates from the Andes of South America, particularly Peru and Ecuador. These majestic columnar cacti, also known as San Pedro cacti, grow at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters. They have been an integral part of the culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of this region for centuries.
Tips for rooting cacti
To successfully root your Trichocereus pachanoi, cut a healthy shoot from the mother plant (if you have received a mother plant) and allow the cut to dry for about a week. Then plant the shoot in well-drained cactus soil and keep it in a warm, bright place out of direct sunlight. Water sparingly until roots have formed - this can take several weeks.
Care of the plants
Your Trichocereus pachanoi loves sunny locations and well-drained soil. Water the plant regularly during the growing season, but make sure that there is no waterlogging. In winter, the cactus needs a rest period: reduce watering and keep it in a cool but frost-free place. During the growing season, fertilize every four weeks or so with a special cactus fertilizer.
